SCI Logistics is a Canadian third party distribution center in the SE Foothills Industrial Area and an exciting opportunity has recently become available for a Contract Supervisor in our new 250,000 sq. ft. multi shift e-commerce operation utilizing RF technology and automation in Calgary, Alberta.

Shift is Monday to Friday 6am to 2pm. Some flexibility may be required. Contract would run until Jan 2016

Role: Working closely with the OPS team and employees, this position will provide the Calgary location with strong practical OPS support in a
Supervisor capacity. This individual will supervise a multi-disciplinary team within warehousing/distribution and will be accountable for the direction
and control of a logical warehouse ensuring that all KPI’s are met and service to the customer is maximized.
Key Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing daily operations on the night (graveyard) shift
  • Ensuring timelines are met while achieving high accuracy and productivity
  • Giving performance feedback
  • Accident and Incident investigations and reporting
  • Provide superb client service while leading your team towards achieving departmental budgets and key performance indicators.
  • Management of various projects
  • Employee training and development
  • Departmental budget watch
  • Adhere to SCI Logistics’ Quality Principles and Account specific Standard Operating Procedures
  • Use of SAP, ESS, RF technology, automation and other related systems
  • Other duties as required

Qualifications include:

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with exceptional planning and organization skills.
  • A high degree of initiative, the ability to work in a team environment and the ability to deal with change are essential.
  • A thorough understanding of operations and the required systems to support
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Detail oriented
  • Good analytical skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage groups
  • Able to organize and conduct warehouse sample counts (over weekends)
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Highly organized
  • SAP Experience would be an asset
  • Previous Lean and Six Sigma knowledge would be an asset

The successful applicant will have a minimum of 3-5 years management experience within the logistics, warehousing or distribution industries as well as Inventory Control experience.
