At its Brossard
facility, Schneider Electric is expanding its activities with new product lines
and integrating activities of steel and copper parts fabrication including the
ramp up of new high-tech punching and bending equipment.

(Trumpf: TP5000, TruBend 5000 – Erht :
HC80-24)

Summary of the role:
The
Fabrication/Maintenance Manufacturing Engineer will formalize fabrication
processes according to Lean SPS principles, implement and monitor the
preventive maintenance program to ensure quality and improve the Overall
Equipment Effectiveness of the fabrication department.

Responsibilities:

  • Be

accountable for analyzing risks (Health & Safety) on fabrication equipment
and implementing corrective and preventive actions

  • Formalize

processes by creating Job Breakdown and Specific Work Instructions according to
Schneider Electric Standards.

  • Implement

and monitor the preventive maintenance program for punching and forming
equipment

  • Provide

technical support and coaching to operators on maintenance, set up and
calibration operations on machineries.

  • Reduce

Non Quality Cost and support quality dept in analyzing root cause of main test
failure mode

  • Maintain

performance KPI updated to improve the overall effectiveness of the equipment:
Analyze breakdown, frequency, time to repair, main reasons (Pareto) and how to
prevent it.

  • Analyze

spare parts and tools consumption and manage inventory

  • Ensure

continuous improvement by leading the Lean action plan (5S, Daily Management,
SMED)

  • Perform

other work related task as required as assigned.

Qualifications

Technical

Qualifications:

  • Technical

degree with experience or Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial or Manufacturing
Engineering

  • 3

to 5 years’ experience in fabrication environment (sheet metal
punching and forming process), experience on Trumpf and Erht equipment would be
an asset

  • Inventor/Pro-E

or other CAD and ERP knowledge

  • Advanced

knowledge of MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint & Excel) is a requirement

  • Experience

in Lean Manufacturing Tools (5S, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, Visual management,
etc.)

  • Ability

to interact and lead others in a collaborative environment.

  • Strong

leadership, interpersonal, problem solving, project management and
communication skills

  • Ability

to set overall priorities and form action plans to implement & monitor for
results

  • Advanced

written and verbal skills in both English and French (essential)
