Established in 1976 the Saskatchewan Indian Institute of Technologies (SIIT) is a First Nation governed post-secondary institution. Recognized under provincial legislation, the Institute has been conferred authority to grant certificates and diplomas. SIIT welcomes over 2000 students into our urban and community programs annually as well as serving over 4800 clients through our eight Career Centres across the province. This summer student position will have the opportunity to gain excellent experience in SIIT’s Marketing department. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the incumbent will provide support on department initiatives.

This position will have the opportunity to support us by:

  • Assisting with corporate promotions, marketing and promotional templates, internal communications, and communication initiatives through the use of various media
  • Providing assistance with the organization and indexing of corporate photos
  • Scanning, organizing, and indexing documents
  • Assisting with the marketing aspects of SIIT’s website and social media outlets
  • Providing assistance in research, development, and implementation of new marketing programs and initiatives
  • Collaborating with faculty and administration as needed and helping to provide creative solutions to marketing problems

Required Qualifications and Experience:

Must have completed one full year of post-secondary education in a business or marketing related program, and be returning to school in the fall of 2017 . Must be prompt, reliable, and exhibit excellent oral and written communication skills, coupled with a high level of confidentiality. Prior experience working with Microsoft Office suite of programs is required; prior experience in accounting is preferred. Knowledge of First Nations culture and traditions is considered an asset.
