Duties and responsibilities: The successful candidate will also be responsible for staff training, mentoring, and
supporting performance of Support Workers.

Duties include:

  • Conducts needs assessments and develops community partnerships to respond to the identified needs
  • Produces a monthly schedule of activities for all programs delivered from the Drop in Centre and schedules staff

accordingly

  • Creates and maintains relationships with community members and stakeholders
  • Schedules facilitators to deliver workshops and facilitates when external facilitators are not available
  • Trains and supervises Volunteers
  • Works closely with the Community Inclusion Specialist to assist clients in successfully participating in volunteer

opportunities in the community

  • Mentors, guides, supports, and monitors the job performance of Support Workers
  • Assists with grant applications, data collection, and follow up reports as required by funders
  • Documents information as per Council policies and contract obligations
  • Oversees all equipment maintenance, purchases and spending for the Centre and stays within the approved

budget

  • Routinely reports day to day information on drop in services, staff performance, extraordinary events, and

concerns to Quality of Life Senior Supervisor

Qualifications:Education:

  • Post Secondary degree in Human Services field
  • Valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence and access to a working vehicle
  • Valid First Aid/CPR/AED Certification or willingness to obtain within three months

Experience:

  • One year experience in related field

Skills:

  • Strong interpersonal skills and a desire to work effectively with individuals with varying abilities, co-workers, and,

community partners

  • Open minded, creative, effective time management, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

The final candidates are required to provide satisfactory police record checks

Compensation: Pay Class 16 range from ($24.28 to 30.23) plus benefits
