Duties and responsibilities:

The contracted Special Events Coordinator(s) will be responsible for leading, marketing, facilitating and delivering fundraising and event/campaign initiatives for Saskatoon. Duties include:
• Coordination, planning, recruiting and delivery of SaskAbilities/Easter Seals Saskatchewan created fundraising events/campaigns in Saskatoon, assist with third party events or golf tournaments and assist in the brain storming and execution of provincial wide events/campaigns where necessary
• Create/update critical paths and folders pertaining to each event
• Assisting with SaskAbilities non fundraising events either internally for staff or as recognition for supporters/donors/volunteers
• Events/Campaigns the Contractor will be responsible for leading or assisting will include: o Provincial 50/50 -Winter Windfall (December – February 10th. 2018) o Paper Egg Campaign (March 5th – April 1st, 2018) o RIKI Walkathon (May, 2018) o Pelican Drop (July, 2018) o Motorcycle into Manitou (September, 2018) o Camp Day (July, 2018) o Drop Zone SK (August, 2018)
• Third Party Events: o Easter Egg Hunt, Pancake Breakfast (April 1st, 2018) o Draggins Car Show (April, 2018) o Century 21 Fusion Golf Tournament (Summer 2018) o Blue Goose, Saskatchewan Pond Golf Tournament (Summer, 2018) o Easter Seals Golf Tournament (Summer, 2018) o Gingerbread Run (November, 2018)
• Communicating with SaskAbiliites staff and attending meetings as required;
• Recruiting committee members, SaskAbilities staff or volunteers as need and required for events/campaigns;
• Providing monthly invoices and relevant supporting documentation;
• Maintain positive relationship with sponsors, stakeholders, volunteers, committee members and participants;
• Working within established revenue and expense budgets established by SaskAbilities.
Qualifications:

Education:
• Grade 12 and post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Business Marketing, Event Management/Planner or comparable
Experience:
• Must have previous experience leading and organizing large scale event(s) and volunteer team
• Comfortable with networking and public speaking in various settings
• Recruiting participants and/or volunteers for events
• Experience working in and networking in a professional environment
• Previous experience working in databases (ie: Raisin and Blackbaud) an asset
• Managing individuals in a work environment and/or volunteer capacity
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and skill working within them
Skills:
• Extremely organized with a keen eye for detail
• Strong verbal & written communication skills
• Time management and managing stressful situations
• Ability to ‘think outside the box’ and be creative
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills
Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable vehicle as some in city and out of town travel required. The final candidate(s) are required to provide satisfactory criminal record checks including a vulnerable sector search.
