EMPLOYMENT SPECIALIST Full-time 6month term position

Sara Riel Inc is presently accepting applications for full-time Employment Specialist. The program provides comprehensive client centered employment planning for individuals who are experiencing mental health concerns and wanting to enter the workforce or return to work. This is a 6 month term position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Facilitate classroom and workshops
Provide support and assistance to clients for the purpose of:

• Developing employment readiness
• Career exploration and choosing a vocation
• Achieving and securing employment
• Maintaining their employment once employed
• Advocacy and system navigation
• Community and professional resource acquisition and management
• Achieving and maintaining mental health stability
• Build positive relationships with employers

Provide individual counselling as an extension of the employment support
Manage crisis situations

Qualifications

• BSW or related discipline
• Experience in case management recording progress notes
• Demonstrated understanding of mental health issues as it impacts employment
• Knowledge of diverse cultures and community resources
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational skills and ability to prioritize duties
• Good critical thinking and problem-solving skills required
• Ability to work in a multi-disciplinary team
• Experience in computer programs i.e. Microsoft Office, Outlook.

Requirements:
Undergraduate Degree in Social or Behavioural Sciences
Current criminal record check and child abuse registry
Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle
First Aid and CPR
Non-Violent Crisis Intervention
Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST)
Bilingual in both official languages is an asset

Salary:
Range is $20.08 – 24.04 per hour, to commensurate with education and experience.
