Job Description: As a full-time employee at Salford, you will become the leader of the Information Technology (IT) team. You will have the opportunity to apply your knowledge and experience to a variety of projects and tasks such as: implementing a new enterprise resource planning (ERP) system across multiple manufacturing facilities, supporting existing systems, and developing, testing and deploying new applications and reports. You will be involved in and responsible for projects from conception to implementation.

Duties:

Management

  • Plan, organize, manage and monitor activities and projects related to information systems and infrastructure, including but not limited to, business applications and software, server and desktop hardware, telecommunication systems and IT services.
  • Manage and lead members of the IT team; responsible for employee performance including appraisals, support and discipline. 3 direct reports.
  • Coordinate and manage project activities and deliverables, and maintain project plans, budgets and tasks
  • Plan, organize and supervise development and testing of system and reporting enhancements
  • Coordinate work packages for IT consultants and service providers
  • Organize & facilitate regular communication between team members and project stakeholders; report project status and escalate issues to management/steering committee
  • Coordinate system installs, upgrades and patches with multiple business units and vendors
  • Monitor and ensure efficient operation of networks and business systems including backups
  • Manage internal ticket system; escalate and follow up on unresolved issues, oversee ticket assignment including outsourcing to 3rd party vendors
  • Develop and participate in annual IT budgeting for capital and expensed items and ensure cost effectiveness
  • Source and acquire IT hardware, software and services through established networks, contracts and service agreements
  • Establish and implement IT and business policies and procedures to support corporate governance
  • Support 350+ employees and contractors across 5 facilities in North America

Analyst

  • Responsible for requirements analysis and documentation from all key stakeholders
  • Analyze and document existing business processes and procedures; consult with end users, supervisors, and management to identify business problems, requirements and/or objectives
  • Define, evaluate and recommend solutions to management based on business objectives
  • Lead and participate in solution design workshops with subject matter experts and consultants to define business and system requirements, and workshop process flows and system configurations
  • Liaison between end users, business managers, IT specialists and external consultants
  • Participate in design documentation and review with system architect and developers
  • Configure, test, support and monitor information systems
  • Provide end user support and training for multiple business systems
  • Analyze and correct reported system problems and documents any changes made
  • Lead and participate in business application requirements gathering sessions
  • Create and maintain design and specification documentation
  • Develop, test and deploy applications, scripts and reports
  • Provide end user support for software and hardware
  • Train end users on current and new business systems and processes

Qualifications:

  • University degree in Computer Science or technology related field
  • 4+ years of work experience with information systems
  • Excellent knowledge of business and system analysis, software development and project management
  • Experience gathering and documenting business and system requirements
  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (i.e. Infor, Dynamics, SAP, etc.)
  • Experience working with Windows client and server systems and applications
  • Development experience using Microsoft .NET, VB.Net, and Visual Studio (or similar languages and IDEs)
  • Understanding of MS SQL Server including, code objects (tables, views, triggers, etc.), SSRS, and SSAS; knowledge of relational databases and object oriented design
  • Strong knowledge of software development life cycle (SDLC)
  • Experience preparing and presenting reports and solutions to all levels of an organization
  • Experience with engineering, manufacturing and/or distribution processes considered an asset
  • Ability to manage personnel
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a dynamic business environment
  • Detail oriented with strong technical aptitude
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent leadership, planning and organizational skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively to technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Proficient in MS Office applications and other technologies (i.e. Excel, Word, Outlook)
