Information Systems

Information Systems is responsible for maintaining a cost-effective and reliable electronic infrastructure for applications and services. The major focus of this effort is to provide services that affect the entire organization or multiple departments.

We are currently looking for a Server Analyst I. This position reports to the senior member of Technical Services, Server Operations Team and is responsible for installation, testing, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the servers’ infrastructure. The successful candidate will also provide the operational management of storage area network infrastructure, Active Directory and affiliated systems, to achieve high performance of the services the Information Systems department delivers.

Responsibilities:Operational responsibilities include but not limited to:
Server provision, administration, maintenance, optimization, upgrade, and patching (firmware, OS, application).
Troubleshoot server hardware, operating systems, Active Directory, and related systems.
Monitor and test server infrastructure performance and provide statistics performance reports as required.
Practice asset management, including maintenance of component inventory and related documentation and technical specifications information.
Administration of various management tools (e.g. HP SIM, vCenter, EMC Unisphere, HP C7000, etc.).

Other responsibilities include but not limited to:
Works closely with client groups and project teams to execute tasks as required.
Provide consulting services on: servers, storage, backup, and directory configuration to various departmental contacts.
Prototyping and testing of new hardware, storage, backup, and directory systems that align with SAIT’s strategic initiatives.

Qualifications:
Two-year diploma from a recognized educational institute in a technology infrastructure related discipline. Proven work experience in a related technical field may also be considered.
Five years of directly related experience in a multi-server environment. Proven operational experience in Microsoft and Red Hat Linux Operating Systems, as well as Active Directory and system support applications.
Three to five years related experience in the installation, configuration and maintenance of Windows 2008/2012 and Linux (5, 6, and 7) servers.
Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) would be an asset
MCSE (2008 or above) certification an asset.
VMware (5 or 6) Certification an asset
EMC Storage Area Network (VNX) experiences an asset.
Familiarity and experience with management frameworks and troubleshooting tools.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Experience supporting blade server infrastructure would be considered an asset.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
