About The Calgary Domestic Violence Collective (CDVC)

CDVC is a self-organizing collective that creates space to address the systems and structures that support violence, and create deep and sustainable social change.

The Calgary Domestic Violence Collective (CDVC) is an ecosystem inspired by a very powerful idea – ending domestic violence. Our purpose is to identify and support high-impact opportunities, share knowledge and influence norms, practices, programs and policies related to domestic violence prevention.

As a collective, we are stewards of a movement based on relationships and a common agenda. We are not bound by structure or hierarchy – in fact, adaptability is our code – allowing us to embrace new and emergent ideas.

At our core, we are about creating space for connection, innovation, learning and growth. As self-organizers, CDVC members represent a broad range of organizations, sectors and political affiliations. Together, we are co-authoring our version of ‘collective impact’ to address the complexities that underpin the systems and structures that support violence, and create deep and durable impact.

About Sagesse (The Backbone)

For more than 30 years, Sagesse has empowered individuals, organizations and communities to break the cycle of violence by curating environments to heal and develop skills to lead safe, healthy lives. We work in more than 30 communities across Alberta – either directly providing service or partnering with agencies help deliver our programs. Our work falls into three categories; direct service programs, capacity building and education and collective impact. Sagesse is the backbone agency for the Calgary Domestic Violence Collective and a provincial collective impact initiative.

We are seeking a CDVC Membership Engagement Associate to join our team. The position requires a curious worker with strong membership engagement skills. The successful candidate is a dependable self-starter who can juggle a number of tasks, enjoys networking and demonstrates versatility as part of a dynamic team.

Qualifications

• Engages in curiosity and vulnerability (Brene Brown)
• Ability to create rapport with CDVC members and membership organizations and colleagues
• Must like to communicate dynamically in individual and group settings
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Thrives as a member of a collaborative, fast paced team
• Degree or Diploma in Business Administration or equivalent experience
• Experience with customer relationship management theory and practice.

Role & Responsibilities

Develop, with guidance, a member engagement strategy and action plan

• Lead the implementation of the action plan including:
  • Develop and maintain a membership relationship plan that proactively reaches out to members
  • Engage with and respond to membership information requests
  • Develop and maintain data measurement processes.

Program Administration

• Maintain Membership program filing systems
• Report on monthly activities and statistics
• Report on impacts of membership engagement
• Provide information, as necessary, for development of funding proposals and reports
