R&R International Translation Specialists Inc. is a Canadian owned and operated company located in Montreal, Quebec with secondary offices in Toronto. Specializing in government translations in Canada’s two official languages.

We’re looking for intermediate translators. You will be part of a translation team, working closely with the Project Manager and Reviser. You will be responsible for translating government documents (general administration, employment, finance and social science texts). The translator must ensure the linguistic quality and use a very good terminological research methodology. Requests are generally short, and delivery deadlines will be tight. Translators must be comfortable with translation software and TMX memory files are used to translate all texts.


  • To translate texts on various subjects from English to Canadian French.
  • To carry out research activities to gain a better understanding of the nature of the text he/she is translating at any time. This will typically involve desk research and use of the internet, in which the translator will be expected to be able to locate quickly and utilize material relating to the subject matter being translated.
  • Understanding and following the specific processes of each client.

Qualifications : Applicants must demonstrate within the content of their application that they meet the following screening criteria in order to be given further consideration as candidates.

  • A bachelor’s degree in translation or a related field .
  • 5 years plus translation experience
  • Member of a professional association (OTTIAQ, ATIO or CTTIC) would be considered an asset
  • Ability to work under pressure and work with tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and quality
  • Significant experience in the use of MS Office, for example Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Good knowledge of translation software

Anticipated Results:

  • The employee will be expected to produce texts that are client ready requiring as little editing and correction as possible.
  • When engaged solely on translation activities, the translator will be expected translate an average of 2,000 or more words per day.
