Part-time Exempt position – 25 hours per week (5 hours per day) – to March 31, 2018

The Royal Ontario Museum (ROM) currently has an opening for a well-motivated individual to provide basic administrative functions on a part-time basis.

Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Chief Human Resources Officer but working with the Human Resources team,

the successful candidate will perform general office administration tasks including but not limited to: data entry (entering new hires, salary increases, leaves, terminations, address changes, all attendance information etc.) and running reports; filing for employee and general files; mail pick up and drop off; ensuring e-mailed resumes are transferred to appropriate folders; ordering supplies; performing reference checks; posting job vacancies; scheduling meetings for Chief Human Resources Officer; and fielding various requests from staff.

Qualifications

Community college diploma in office or business administration OR an acceptable equivalent in education and experience;

A minimum of three years’ experience in an administrative capacity, including experience with data entry;

Strong attention to detail;

Strong organizational skills, the ability to set priorities and skills to coordinate a variety of responsibilities concurrently in a very busy environment.

Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communications skills to effectively interact with a wide range of contacts. Demonstrated client service and problem-solving skills are required, including the ability to respect strict confidentiality.

Excellent business and office management skills including Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point), budget administration and general office management.
