Royal Canadian Properties Limited is a Real Estate, Investment and Property Management Company that is seeking a Controller for a term position of approximately 15 months to fill a maternity leave. The start date is flexible between May and July. This position works under the guidance of the VP of Finance of our parent company and oversees the Property Accounting and Administrative team, reporting to the Leasing and Property Manager.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Manage finance and accounting operations by ensuring quality control of financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Prepare and submit timely monthly financial statements
  • Coordinating and directing the preparation of the annual budgets and report variances
  • Directing and assisting with the preparation of the tenant year end reconciliation billings
  • Directing and preparation of the annual audit and assisting the auditors with their field work
  • Ad Hoc Reporting as required

Qualifications:

  • Advance degree in accounting preferred
  • Experience with full-cycle accounting
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • Property Management experience is an asset
  • Experience with Spectra Software is an asset
