As a member of the Plant team the Maintenance and Projects Supervisor is responsible for the safe reliability of key processing equipment minimizing downtime and costs both within his/her department and production as a whole. Through the management of maintenance staff, the Maintenance and Projects Supervisor will lead their team through the organization of maintenance scheduling for people, processes and machinery. This individual will weigh in on all major plant decisions relating to all on site issues including: health and safety, environmental compliance, purchasing, inventory management, process control, quality and general employee engagement.


  • Schedule and direct all plant maintenance trades and external contractors in corrective and preventative tasks to properly maintain facility.
  • Accountable for maintenance of all production and related utilities equipment.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and maintenance program through Oracle.
  • Strong engagement in the Health and Safety culture within the facility.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the Maintenance team and foster a continuous improvement philosophy.
  • Assist in the preparation of the maintenance and capital project budgets and be accountable for same.
  • Develop and execute capital projects.
  • Responsible for the creation, implementation and improvement of Standard Operating Procedures as related to the maintenance function.
  • Analyze current and future cost savings opportunities
  • Must be flexible to work within a shift environment; may include afterhours and weekend work


  • Minimum 3-5 years of maintenance management experience combined with project engineering experience in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Working knowledge of maintenance management software.
  • Preference will be given to candidates with a University education in Mechanical/Industrial Engineering or College diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology


  • Ability to prioritize workload in a fast paced environment.
  • Possess sound knowledge of troubleshooting, adjusting and repairing equipment including automated systems.
  • High degree of functional knowledge displaying technical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Disciplined critical thinker who makes fact based decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to concisely break down and translate complex issues and instructions.
  • Demonstrated bias for action.
  • Ability to manage time effectively given competing priorities.
  • Strong ability to work with reports, documents, spread sheets and maintenance software such as Oracle
