Position Title : Accounting Administrator (14-Month Contract)

Reports To : Accounting Supervisor

Location : Dundas, Ontario

Rothsay provides essential services for the efficient and environmentally responsible management of collecting, processing and recycling edible and inedible animal by-products. Additionally, Rothsay provides used cooking oil and grease trap services to restaurants and food processors. Rothsay is committed to environmental sustainability, superior quality and excellent customer service. Rothsay has a team of over 500 employees and is a member of Darling International Canada Inc.
We currently have an opportunity for a results oriented individual to join our team as an Accounting Administrator in our Dundas, Ontario location on a 14-month contract.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accurate and timely filing of monthly tax returns (HST, QST, PST)
  • Monthly journal entries for prepaid expenses, lease costs, intercompany transactions
  • Monthly balance sheet reconciliations for various accounts
  • Preparation of various quarterly audit and tax reporting documents
  • Administration of Fixed Asset sub ledger including asset additions, disposals, transfers and depreciation
  • Capital project administration including monthly reporting to project managers, maintenance of project files, project setup in Oracle, pre-closure audit and capitalization
  • Assistance with audits as required
  • Other duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Post-Secondary Degree in Accounting/Finance/Business Administration
  • High sense of urgency, well organized, ability to manage multiple tasks and able to prioritize effectively
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel suite and ability to effectively use transactional databases and finance software
  • Oracle experience an asset
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Own method of transportation (facility is not located on a bus route)
