Reporting to the Manager, Finance, Planning & Reporting, the Purchasing Agent is responsible for establishing, coordinating and administrating procurment for the site in conjunction with the North American indirect shared service center.

This is a temporary position to replace a maternity leave from Feb 2017 until March 2018.

Specific accountabilities:
Assists in sourcing process with existing and/or new suppliers (if applicable) mainly by requesting bids as necessary, evaluating quotation against defined criteria.

Helps identify opportunities for obtaining products and services whose quality, pricing, quantity and general purchasing conditions meet the interest of Company.

Liaises with long term suppliers in conjunction with functional leads.

Prepares preliminary commercial terms to assist legal with information in the drafting of supplier RFQ and Long Term Supply Agreements.

Participates with functional experts to assist in performing value analysis, validating information and providing recommendation on successful bids.

Coordinates on site supplier assistance during integration.

Ensures Company purchasing policies and procedures are adhered to.

Performs related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and experience


DEC diploma and 5 years of experience in purchasing/ Manufacturing

Excellent knowledge of written and spoken French and English languages

Basic negotiation skills

Particular and/or Technical knowledge:
Strong computer skills

Knowledge of Manufacturing environment Industrial plant experience an asset.

Key competencies

Knowledge of Service Contracts

Good understanding of construction in manufacturing environment


Good Legal and Commercial knowledge
