Permanent full-time position (40 hours)

Rheinmetall Canada is currently looking for a systems engineer who will be supporting research and development projects in the fields of land surveillance and unmanned ground vehicles. The incumbent will be working within a multidisciplinary team comprising development engineers from various disciplines and members of the business development team.

Responsibilities

Develop technical solutions in preparation of proposals for potential clients in the fields of ground surveillance that are based on approaches already known and deployed by Rheinmetall Canada.

Write clearly and concisely technical proposals in line with the developed solution.

Provide technical support to the business development department by meeting potential suppliers and customers and by participating in various international exhibitions.

Participate in other general tasks related to research and development or to Rheinmetall Canada’s projects.

Requirements

Hold a bachelor’s degree in electrical or software engineering with a minimum of experience in the field of land surveillance systems.

Possess an excellent knowledge of network communications (TCP/IP, Ethernet protocol, and local area networks).

Possess a good knowledge of radiofrequency and digital communications.

Know about video transmission in high definition.

Be able to work physically to install the equipment.

Demonstrate leadership skills.

Be fluent in French and in English (written and spoken).

Be able and available to travel.

Assets

Knowledge of digital radio network technologies.

Experience in the field of unmanned vehicles (air or land).

Experience in the development of military products.

General knowledge of infrared systems, optical systems, lasers, radars, and stabilizing platforms.
