JOB SUMMARY Under the responsibility of the IP/MPLS Network and IT Manager, the Network Operations Center Coordinator (NOC), monitors the network and coordinates incident management and change management in collaboration internal and external resources. JOB DESCRIPTION – Responsible for monitoring the continuous operation of the network and its services; – Coordinate 24/7 schedules; – Training and coaching of NOC personnel; – Solve technical problems efficiently, escalating complex issues, and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams; – Proactively work to prevent future problems; – Elaboration and maintenance of resolution processes; – Implement and follow processes using ticketing software and alerting systems; – Assure proper follow-up of issues, document and close tickets; – Assure efficient communications with customers and partners; – Customer support for managed services; – Participate to network and service provisioning activities; – Complete escalation of hardware problems and obtain support from manufacturers; – Produce reports and performance statistics; – Participate to general IT maintenance including systems, servers, databases; – Any other related tasks; QUALIFICATIONS – First cycle university diploma in a related discipline OR a technical DEC in a related discipline accompanied by solid experience; – Minimum five (5) years of experience in Telecommunications or IP Networking with a minimum of three (3) years in a supervision position; – Experience in Ethernet troubleshooting (OSI Layer 2); – Experience with automatic alerting and paging systems (ex: Nagios, Solarwinds, Monitis, Pagerduty, VictorOps; Opsgenie); – Practical knowledge of networking protocols (IP,BGP,OSPF,ISIS,MPLS, 802.1Q, 802.1ad – QinQ), VPN services (EPIPE,VPLS,VPRN,IES), Internet services (SMTP, DNS, reverse-DNS), Internet IPv4 allocation/assignment, and basic knowledge of IPv6; – Knowledge of synchronous protocols (SONET/SDH) is considered an asset; – Knowledge of firewall, security equipment, and security standards is considered an asset; – Understanding of Fiber Optic networks and equipment (transmission, amplification) is considered an asset; – Experience with Network Management Systems (ex: Alcatel-Lucent 5620SAM); – Experience with Alcatel-Lucent Service Router (SR) infrastructure is considered an asset; – Alcatel-Lucent NRS Certification, Cisco CCNA or an equivalent certification is considered an asset; – Knowledge of information technology management standards (ex: ITIL) is considered an asset; – Knowledge of QoS and triple-play concepts is considered an asset; SKILLS – Analytical skills; – People skills; – Communication skills; – Ability to manage priorities; – Adaptation capabilities to technology changes; – Bilingual French/English; – Speaking Cree is considered an asset;
