Job Description

We are looking for a smart, innovative, ambitious person to assume the position of product manager by leading us through the expansion of our product management process. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment is essential, bringing with it the opportunity to make a significant impact on the growth and success of the product development team. Position involves working remotely on a full time basis for a dynamic and growth oriented company in the educational technology sector. We offer a casual but very focused environment.

As Product Manager you will report to the Chief Innovation Officer and be responsible for contributing to the strategic direction our product roadmap for new and existing products and features, services, integrated solutions, and improvements. This includes market research and full go-to-market planning in a dynamic multi-product and multi-release environment. This position is a linchpin of cross team communication between business development, sales, technical support, design and development teams, and customers.

Key Responsibilities:
Support Chief Innovation Officer

Establishment of product roadmap and communication with all stakeholders appropriately.

Research and analyze market trends and technologies as well as competing products to help identify product improvements and new revenue opportunities.

Provide recommendations in product pricing and bundled solutions.

Reporting on business and revenue goals for all products.

Collaborate with Development

Requirements gathering and analysis – both internally and externally (from clients)

Set, manage and execute release plans that balance schedules and features.

Actively participate in agile sprint planning and daily scrum.

Define minimum acceptance criteria for features and user stories.

Collaborate with marketing

Research/write white papers

Attend and exhibit at conferences

Create customer messaging, product collateral, and setting go-to-market plan and strategy.

Collaborate with sales

Respond to product questions for both RFPs and during sales process

Gather and provide industry insights.

Communicate with customers about existing and future features, functionality, releases, etc.

Collaborate with technical support

Interact with Technical Support to determine maintenance software releases need to resolve customer issues and critical requests.

Skills/Requirements

Minimum of 5+ years demonstrated product management or product owner work experience in an agile/scrum software environment.

Experience defining, executing and delivering on SAS software and web technology, delivering both backend and frontend solutions.

Understanding of education and training as a business

Ability to manage multiple projects and clearly define different delivery options and their respective tradeoffs.

Strategic yet action-oriented thinking. Advanced analytical, statistical, quantitative and deduction skills.

Strong balance between business minded mentality and ability to articulate technical solutions.

Ability to organize his/her own work and adhere to agreed schedules and deadlines.

Strong interpersonal and presentation skills, with ability to articulate complex technology simply.

Ability to work individually and within a highly collaborative team environment.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

BS/MS degree in Business or Computer Science – an MBA is highly preferred.
