If you are a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual with excellent people skills, join our Accounting Department in the full-time contract position of Accounts Payable Clerk . This maternity leave contract position will be based out of our Head Office location in Cambridge.

As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will carry out a variety of duties and responsibilities for our Commercial Division, as well as filing and other administrative duties, and some accounting-related responsibilities, including:

  • Performing cost coding of invoices
  • Data entry of invoices / matching to purchase orders
  • Processing of payments
  • Filing
  • Recording of closing transactions for all home sales in the Group
  • Coding and preparing backup for all transactions on Visa cards for the Group
  • Inter-company accounts receivable invoicing
  • Vendor / supplier relations
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Tracking of licensing paperwork for sub-trades to ensure it is current (WSIB, Liability Insurance, MOL)
  • Maintenance of Accounts Payable files
  • Assisting and acting as backup for others within the A/P department when necessary
  • Special projects and other duties, as required.

The Accounts Payable Clerk we seek will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • A minimum of 1 to 3 years’ Accounts Payable experience
  • Jonas construction software and/or Newstar software experience, an asset
  • Successful completion of a post-secondary diploma in Office Administration, Accounting, or Business Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • High degree of accuracy in duties and responsibilities
  • Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • Motivation, integrity and a positive attitude
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Excellent computer and organizational skills
  • Team player skills, with positive working relationships with coworkers / contacts
  • The ability to consistently demonstrate the company’s core values.
