Under the direct supervision of the Accounting Manager, the Senior Accounting Clerk will be responsible for recording all revenue processed through end of day cash-outs. He/she will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records and filing documentation as required. This position will include reporting, compilation of data and accounting research, writing up journal entries to the system and performing a variety of other accounting related and general support tasks.

Responsibilities:
Balance all end of day reports from multiple venues. GL batch is created, and sales are then keyed into Accpac Assumes responsibility for effectively researching, tracking, and resolving (or properly referring) any cash problems and discrepancies Print reports from Northstar-Moneris (Credit card, debit, gift card) and online registration. Gather all reports and receipts from cash out envelopes after cash has been removed, sort and organize for reconciliation Maintain daily cash out files, including organizing and create files for each daily cash out report Research cash over/short discrepancies and provide reports to department supervisors/managers for reconciliation on a weekly basis. Collect all PAD forms from Guest Services and set them up in the system customer file in Northstar Maintain all customer files with regards to the PAD’s incl. freezing or cancelling memberships in accordance with company policies Maintains and processes all pre-authorized deposits (PAD’s) from customers, including submitting the information to the bank and acting as a point of contact for all finance matters relating to cash-outs and pre-authorized deposits Submit PAD’s (pre-authorized deposits) following process on the 15 th of each month. Record payments in Northstar Record PAD related NSF payments and maintain customer file. Make arrangements to have installment repaid with additional bank charges for NSF Record and reconcile all matters relating to the Mi Kids, Mi Dance and Mi Coach programs including sponsorships, inventory and balance sheets Prepare Socan quarterly remittances. Maintain supporting documentation and copies Perform end of month procedures for reconciling GL and sub-ledger accounts as assigned by management Train all users with cash handling duties on proper cash handling procedures and policies. All other duties as required by management

Qualifications:
Education : Diploma in Accounting and some advanced coursework in accounting. 3-5 years of experience in an accounting related field.

Essential Skills and Experience: Proficient with Microsoft Office especially Excel Experience with AccPac and PAD’s with a financial institution Knowledge of spreadsheets and on-line accounting systems Knowledge of accounting forms and procedures of the institutions Skill in operating office equipment. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and apply institutional and other policies accurately. Must be able to work in both a teamwork Ability to perform arithmetic computations Ability to gather and display data in appropriate format and keep accurate records
Must be organized, detailed-oriented, and ability to multi-task
Must have pleasant telephone manners and have strong interpersonal and communication skills
Ability to maintain confidentiality concerning financial data Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized accounting, spreadsheet and word processing programs and email at a highly proficient level

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS &WORKING CONDITIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit for extended periods of time; Manual dexterity required to use desktop computer and peripherals and use standard office equipment including the ability to enter and retrieve information from a computer The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds Work is performed in normal office conditions with usually quiet noise level This position may require travel between our various facilities within the Wood Buffalo Region. Access to reliable transportation is necessary.

POSITION(S) REPORTING TO/CONTACTS:
This position reports to the Accounting Manager, and will have contact with all departments, especially those that generate direct income related to the Regional Recreation Corporation of Wood Buffalo (RRC).
