Job Description
Education Services requires a Regional Program Administrator, NRC. This position is accountable for developing, implementing and maintaining the efficient operation of a very large, complex department with multiple functions (including fee for service facilities, labs and external partnerships). This position calls for independent decision making within a delegated area of authority and for the exercise of leadership in the management of support services.

Responsibilities include:

• Provides administrative direction regarding the goals and objectives of the NRC by examining, reviewing and assessing long-term as well as immediate needs.

• Ensures provision of service to the Regional Assistant Dean.

• Manages faculty/leadership resources by monitoring contracts, ensuring renewal or appropriate course of action.

• Ensures the provision of front-line service to faculty, staff and students and sets standards for the quality of the NRC services. Ensures an efficient flow of departmental office and information services.

• Ensures the successful administrative operations of fee for service facilities, labs and external partnerships.

• Independently manages the financial resources (operating, research and facilities/services) of the NRC by developing and implementing the departmental budget, exercising controls and developing and recommending strategies to increase revenue. Conducts reviews of accounts and projects fiscal results and makes adjustments for subsequent budgets.

• Monitors funds, operating/ancillary and research, and advises department management of accounts status as appropriate. May need to keep apprised of granting agency regulations. May coordinate the billing process for revenue generating functions.

• Ensures provision of services by hiring, training and carrying out all supervisory responsibilities with respect to the office and other directly report staff. Ensures that administrative support needs of departmental faculty and staff are competently and efficiently met. Regularly confers with department officials in order to plan ahead and coordinate administrative support needs.

• Acts as advisor to all departmental members regarding human resources policies and issues. Coordinates the human resources activities for the NRC with respect to hiring, reevaluations, annual performance review, disciplinary measures, etc.

• Is a member of various committees, such as MD Program Executive, SP Governance, OR Simulation, Quality Symposium, etc.

• Supports departmental function and purpose. Academic responsibilities include: coordinate, organize and maintain undergraduate curriculum and course information/materials and student records, administer graduate recruiting, admissions, retention, payroll and student records. Administrative responsibilities include: coordinate, organize, maintain and provide information, implement efficient record keeping systems and ensure completion of all accounting and payroll procedures.

• Manages the physical resources by controlling inventory, equipment and space. Has decision making authority in these areas.

Interacts with the MD Program on Central Campus, Regional partners and hospitals for required services such as renovations to the office, ensuring student study space in study rooms, security, emergency responses, space acquisition, etc. within budgetary constraints. Monitors health and safety compliance concerns.

• Participates in the development and implementation of new policies/procedures, strategic planning, development of cost-effective measures and user-friendly services; and participates in the development and implementation of both short- and long-term plans to ensure the effective and efficient use of all operational resources.

• Provides information to students and faculty on any matter of concern regarding academic study, such as harassment, student/supervisor conflicts, academic dishonesty, student appeals, admissions, program requirements, policies/procedures, and finance.

Education:

• University degree in Business Administration or equivalent.

Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of managerial experience (which includes selecting and managing administrative and technical employees).

• Demonstrated experience working as a member of a management team, developing documentation, advising management, making presentations, etc.

• Proven experience utilizing word processing, spreadsheet, database, and graphics application software.

• Familiarity with computer software and hardware.

• Must have excellent interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with students, faculty, staff and the general public in a professional manner.

• Exceptional customer services skills is essential.

• Strong project management skills is desirable.

• Must have solid business skills (writing, verbal communication, project planning and budget management).

• Direct experience working in a college or university environment is desirable.

• Please note this position will require travel.
