Position: Human Resources Information Management Assistant
Length: Temporary Full-time (Up to 12 months)
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Wage: $25.82 – $32.28 per hour
Location: Administration Headquarters, 150 Frederick St., Kitchener
Description of Duties:
#Maintains accurate, complete employment life cycle information in the Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and other software programs, consistent with collective agreements, HRIS rules and Regional policies; and provides support to other Human Resources (HR) areas with regard to personnel information.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Required:
#Knowledge of general office and administrative procedures and protocol, word processing, and organizational skills, normally acquired through a post secondary education in Business, Computers, or Administration plus progressively-responsible related work experience in an HR setting.
#Working knowledge of Regional policies and procedures, legislation including the Employment Standards Act, Income Tax Act, collective agreements, payroll regulations, as well as Workplace Safety and Insurance Board and Ontario Municipal Employee Retirement Savings regulations and benefits eligibility guidelines. Knowledge of Regional structure and the specific functions of its departments and divisions.
#Human relations and communication skills to provide assistance and information in response to inquiries and in documentation sessions with tact, confidentiality, and courtesy; to participate as an effective team member.
#Computer skills using MS Office, a human resources information management system (e.g., Banner), Crystal Reports, an electronic document management system, and a time and attendance management system; using web-based applications to maintain postings and advertisements on the Intranet.
#Ability to work independently and respond to multiple changing demands and deadlines and to prioritize a variety of projects.
#Ability to read related correspondence, collective agreements, employment contracts, policies and procedures, and benefit documentation in order to explain employment terms and conditions clarify and resolve inconsistencies, and properly enter data.
#Ability to respond to inquiries from staff on the phone and in person.
#Ability to draft routine correspondence; assist in the preparation of reports according to instructions; complete offer letters; and complete change notices for payroll purposes.
#Ability to travel to various locations within Waterloo Region.
#Ability to support and project values compatible with the organization.
