We are looking for a supervisor for The Ciderhouse in downtown Fredericton. The right person for this role is someone with a great personality, dynamic work ethic, outgoing and friendly and detail oriented. The Bar Supervisor is responsible for assisting with bar operations, ensuring that customers receive the best service possible, upholding a constant level of staff productivity, ensuring that the bar’s budget is not exceeded and maintaining health and safety standards within the bar.

Some of the specific duties are:

- Recruit, hire, train and coach front-line sales associates

- Schedule Ciderhouse staff as well as Event staff

- Brand Promotion through sales and education

- Maintain positive relationships with customers

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs assisted and 20 lbs unassisted

- Event-based sales

- Create and showcase events at the Ciderhouse featuring our products

- Supervise the smooth running of the bar Keep staff busy and productive at all times.

- Ensure staff meet the standards of the company, addressing and correcting bad practice where need be

- Complete daily paperwork to ensure the safe running of the Ciderhouse, and for those standards to be monitored and maintained throughout the shift.

- Complete weekly orders and inventory

- Complete month-end inventory

- Pre-empt and actively respond to problems that arise and keep management up to date.

- Ensure the Ciderhouse closes on time, end of day jobs completed to a high standard, staff are signed off promptly, all back and front of house areas checked and secured and that it is in excellent order for the next day’s service


- Highly versatile, planner and ability to keep big picture goals in mind

- Deadline oriented

- Multi-tasker, ability to switch to different activities and priorities daily

- Superior communication skills (oral and written)

- Event coordination experience an asset Interest and knowledge of craft cider and other craft beverages (beer, wine, spirits)

- Driven and focused.

- Passion for people and service excellence.

- Must possess strong communications skills and understand the importance of positive customer service

- Responsible for the handling of money, including cash float, bank deposits and ticket sales. – Bartending Experience an asset Legal Age – minimum 19 years of age

- Flexible schedule with a minimum of 25 hours a week to start; Days, weekends, evenings, holidays may be required

- Grade 12 or equivalency English essential.

- The ability to communicate in the French language would be an asset

- Ability to lift/maneuver heavy items – up to 65kg

- Supervisory experience a requirement

- Experience in the beverage industry an asset
