The Sports Facilities and Equipment Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of activities pertaining to all Sports facilities at RDC, including the RDC gymnasiums, fitness centre, equipment room, dance studio, racquet courts, outdoor sports fields, sport performance lab, storage rooms, and the sports therapy lab.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining accurate inventory, including academic class equipment/supplies, and facility equipment/supplies

Ensuring appropriate servicing and maintenance of equipment and facility

Maintaining and tracking athletic team uniforms, practice apparel, supplies, and equipment

Liaising with key internal and external stakeholders

Managing and coordinating day-to-day operations of all sport facility spaces on-campus, including team rooms, sport labs, dance studio, etc.

Managing sports facility budgets, including setting fees, achieving revenue targets, and completing projections/variance reports

Procuring supplies and equipment for the facility, athletic department, and Kinesiology and Sports Studies program

Coordinating the scheduling and booking of sports facilities for internal users, partners, and community users

Supervising front-line facility staff, including recruitment, training and development, day-to-day direction and performance management

Managing multiple projects

Liaising with the Dean/Programs Admin Coordinator/Athletic Director to ensure the ongoing development and execution of the Sports Facilities operational plan

Collaborating with internal partners to establish policies and procedures for the operation of all sports facilities

Implementing strategies to market and promote fitness centre memberships

RDC is currently building the Gary W. Harris Canada Games Centre, a state of the art facility, which will include a performance gymnasium, fitness centre, Olympic-sized ice surface, outdoor athletics zone, squash courts, running track, movement student as well as teaching and learning spaces. It is anticipated that the Sports Facilities Equipment Coordinator will contribute to the planning for this space until it opens in 2018.

Minimum Qualifications:
Two (2) years of post-secondary training

Minimum three (3) to five (5) years of recent facility management experience

Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment

Demonstrated supervisory experience

Competence with procurement and budget management process

Mechanical aptitude

Proven customer service excellence

Experience with a variety of sports, ideally with post-secondary athletics and a variety of sports organizations

Strong computer proficiency, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and outlook

Experience with inventory management

Experience with selling memberships and promotion of space

Ability to lift a minimum 33lbs

Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant Bachelor’s Degree

Experience in a post-secondary environment
