Applied Research Technicians provide support to faculty/staff members engaged in specific research projects by performing data entry and analysis, contributing to the research design, research support such as gathering information, conducting tests and experiments, reporting and service support such as loading, unloading, monitoring and maintaining equipment, preparing solutions and monitoring inventories. Advanced skill levels involve tasks of greater complexity and require greater independence of action.

Minimum Qualifications:
Two (2) years of post-secondary training including completion of relevant course work in sciences, engineering or social sciences

A minimum of six (6) months relevant experience

Completion of course work in engineering, engineering technology or similar courses.

Proficient in Internet research/navigation, Microsoft Office suite

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Experience with statistical analysis

Due to funding requirements, the applicant is required to be a post secondary student

Preferred Qualifications:
Three (3) year undergraduate degree, three years of University or equivalency in relevant program

Experience working in an electrical lab

Proven project management skills

Proven design skills
