We are currently looking for a Family Preservation Therapist to work in our Family Treatment Program. As a Family Preservation Therapist you would provide in-home crisis intervention, counseling, and life-skills education for families who have children at imminent risk of placement outside of their home, or to assist families in reunification after having a child in care.

Every family is different so our approach is to look at their culture, their values, and their beliefs. We do some engagement activities, get to know the family, and learn about their values, their goals, and their strengths. We then work with them individually to learn how we can help them build new skills and assist them grow as a safe and healthier family.

We invite you to apply for the Family Preservation Therapist position if you have at least two years of in-home family work experience and the following:

• Bachelor of Social Work degree (Master preferred). May consider bachelors degree in a related area from a recognized post-secondary institution combined with relevant experience
• Ability to provide a range of clinical, concrete and advocacy services to family members that are consistent with the HOMEBUILDERS model
• Exceptional individual, family, and group counseling skills
• Versed in the field of mental health and interested to work with individuals with differing cognitive abilities
• Strong organizational, verbal, written, consultative, and training skills
• Must be registered with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers or be able to obtain registration with respective professional association

This an 18 month term position with potential to become a full-time permanent position.
