QuadReal is recruiting for a Data Analyst who will serve as a liaison between our business partners, analytics development team and subject matter experts to deliver the appropriate data solutions and analyses for the business. The successful candidate will use their experience and abilities to understand the business problem, data structures and how information can be turned into insight and action.

Reporting into the Head of Analytics and Data Science, that Data Analyst will play a key role in the delivery of successful data solutions that support the business growth at QuadReal.

Role Description

  • Liaison with respective line of businesses (LOB’s) to capture and ensure delivery of their data needs – including thorough collaboration with the Analytics team as necessary
  • Identify, analyze and interpret data using statistical techniques as required
  • Deliver custom reports and decks while leveraging the analytics toolkit and data sources at your disposal
  • Develop and perform data mining and data exploration used cases as required by our business partners
  • Authors requirements documents, translates requirements into functional specifications for hand-off to internal and/or external technical teams and subject matter experts for development (both ETL and Analytics development)
  • May be required to develop test plans and test cases for deliverables
  • Potentially serve as the Data Steward for the Line of Business and Data Domain under their responsibility
  • Define and capture metadata and rules as required in support of the corporate Data Governance Program
  • Provide training and education as required to end users on either the Analytics toolkit or data structures
  • Facilitates JAD sessions; use case workshops; and design walkthroughs as needed
  • Assist the support team in investigating and analyzing production problems and issues as assigned; escalation support and problem analysis for operational issues related to applications
  • Mapping source system data to target destination
  • Data migration and data analysis support as required
  • Depending on location of candidate, there may be travel considerations to sites

Education and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience working as a data analyst or Business intelligence professional
  • University or college degree in Mathematics, Economics, Accounting, Computer Science or related discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience working with various BI tools, Analytics software and Data Warehousing environments
  • Experience working with data modeling software like ERwin, ER/Studio is an asset
  • Strong SQL programming skills
  • Experience working SAS/SPSS/R software and statistical modeling is a preferred asset
  • Real Estate experience is an asset
  • GIS and mapping software experience is an asset
  • Finance and accounting experience is an asset
  • Experience with a range of database platforms and Data Warehouse appliances
  • Knowledge of star schema designs and logical/physical data models
  • Expertise in requirements and functional design facilitation and documentation, including modeling tools and methods.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills in both written and verbal, including the ability to produce clear and well-organized documentation.
  • Strong interviewing skills with the ability to identify and extract requirements from others.
