The Opportunity: Tax Senior Manager – Real Estate Services

The Tax Real Estate practice is currently seeking a Senior Manager to join their team. You will be responsible for providing industry knowledge and technical expertise to our diverse real estate client base.

Responsibilities:

Advise privately held companies and their owners. The focus in real estate, construction contracting and a multitude of other industries with regards to their tax planning and compliance needs;

Provide advice on tax planning strategies for compensation, corporate distributions, acquisitions, divestitures, partnership and joint venture arrangements;

Actively participate in proposals for prospective clients and other business development efforts and be expected to assume a high degree of responsibility and exposure within the firm;

Be the main client service advisor for your clients.
Candidate Profile:

Candidates with a CPA or other accounting/professional designation;

Completed level 1 and level 2 of the CICA In-Depth Tax course;

Strong technical tax background as a result of a minimum of 6-8 years of experience in Canadian Tax research, consulting and compliance in a professional services firm.

Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple assignments.

Strong analytical capability, sound business sense and creative mind that have earned you a reputation of providing excellence in client service.

Powerful motivator and effective coach to those who work with you.

Skilled at managing existing clients and seeks opportunities to take on business development activities.

Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with clients, targets and other community professionals.

Strong technical tax knowledge and research capabilities developed as a result of experience advising Canadian companies on their tax planning and compliance needs;

Real estate industry knowledge an asset;

Strong interpersonal and client service delivery skills;

Desire to work in a fast paced and dynamic team-based environment – working with multi-disciplinary tax and advisory teams.
