Our Risk Assurance Services Group (RAS):

PwC is continuing to grow our Risk Assurance Practice to add even more value to our clients. The Risk Assurance Services practice is currently seeking individuals to join our team based in Halifax.

The Opportunity: Senior Associate , Enterprise Systems

PwC provides industry-focused assurance, advisory and tax services within the private and public industry sectors.

Associates will be responsible for delivering multiple client engagements across a variety of data analytics, enterprise systems, business process controls advisory, governance and other assurance projects. Candidates must have a strong commitment to providing excellence in client service and a demonstrated ability of producing high quality results. Strong interpersonal skills are required to contribute in maintaining key client relationships. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Business Administration, Computer Science, or similar education;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office;
  • Demonstrated experience in developing audit test plans/programs;
  • Experience related to information technology general controls, and application controls in an ERP environment (either on premise or cloud-based);
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and testing information technology controls or application controls testing (controls evaluation and substantive testing);
  • Demonstrated knowledge of controls in supporting Operating Systems (UNIX, AS400, Windows) and Database (Oracle, HANA, SQL) and network (internal and perimeter network);
  • Demonstrated experience assisting in generating summary of findings, root cause analysis and recommendations;
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to deliver concurrent projects;
  • Superior communication (English – oral and written) and interpersonal skills that allow you to thrive in a team environment;
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a multitasked, fast-paced and changing environment;
  • Proven organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills; and
  • Commitment to providing excellent client-facing service.

Optional experience or willingness to learn:

  • Experience successfully delivering data analytics, data assurance, Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and/or Governance, Risk and Controls (GRC) projects;
  • Demonstrated exposure to data analytics, transformation and visualisation tools (e.g. ACL, SQL, Alteryx, Python, R, Tableau, Qlik);
  • Demonstrated experience working with query tools and report development software;
  • Industry or professional experience with implementing large-scale ERP platforms, stand-alone or boundary applications, implementing interfaces between boundary systems;
  • Demonstrated experience in process mapping and flowcharting including identification of key controls and risks;
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying and assessing risks and determining risk management strategies;
  • In-depth knowledge of methodology, specific work programs, practice aids and tools specific to ERP application;
  • Familiarity with NI 52-109/Sarbanes-Oxley and Service Organization Controls Assurance standards, Trust principles and related documentation/assessments; and
  • Working with Service Organizations, such as third-party IT vendors.

Other Assets:

  • Energy, Utilities, Financial Services, or Public Sector industry experience;
  • Prior financial statement audit or internal audit experience;
  • CISA designation;
  • CA, CPA, ACCA, CGA, CMA (Chartered Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, or Certified General Accountant) designation.

Travel:

This position is located in Halifax and candidates must be receptive to travel throughout Canada and potentially the U.S.
