The Opportunity: Resource Specialist- Assurance

We are looking for a dynamic individual to join our Resource Management team. As part of the Resource Management team supporting PwC’s Assurance Services you will be responsible for executing the Resource Management function, policies and procedures within the Assurance Sectors in the local office. You’ll work with Resource Managers who have deep subject matter expertise across a variety of Sectors they support. You will have opportunities to build relationships with other Resource Managers and HC colleagues other lines of service.

Reporting to a Resource Manager, the Resource Specialist supporting Assurance is responsible for ensuring the effective scheduling and assignment of Associates and Senior Associates within the Audit Practice. The results achieved will contribute to successfully achieving the business targets and results for each sector as well as assisting in the execution of the National Resource Management strategy.

Our goal in RM is to align individual skill sets and career development with client assignment needs as well as the financial objectives of the business. Primary responsibilities are as follows:

Assurance RM Specialist Responsibilities

Maintenance of a current and accurate staff schedule using Retain Enterprise software;

Timely completion of staffing requests from managers, staff and/or other Resource Managers for recurring, special, or any related client assignment;

Proactive management of staff availability, including communication to all counterparts;

The timely resolution of staffing conflicts, through negotiation with practice Managers & Partners;

Involvement in the annual staff planning process;

Assist in the preparation of various reports, as requested;

Knowledge of and ability to present RM policies & practices to staff;

Review of time reports to ensure accurate charging of time and any unusual matters;

Involvement in ad-hoc projects, as required;

Provide administrative support to the Senior Resource Manager as requested.

Multi-tasking and prioritization required to meet deadlines due to unpredictable nature of work environment and volume of requests.

Strategic and innovative thinking skills with strong problem-solving and project management skills, including the ability to understand the financial impact of relevant options;

Ability to translate business requirements/needs into suggested programs and actions;

A passion for client service and focused achievement of business results;

Strong relationship building skills with experience engaging leaders at all levels and partnering with other HC teams;

Ability to demonstrate empathy, optimism and patience in working with practice staff in reviewing their personal development needs

Excellent communication skills (written/verbal);

Strong leadership image, impeccable ethical standards and integrity, objectivity, confidence and dedication;

Experience in a professional services environment either in a client facing, management, operational or RM role.

  • Travel Required throughout the GTA.
