The Opportunity: Marketing Manager – Energy, Utilities, Mining & Industrial Products (EUMI)- This is a 1 year contract position

This dynamic role has broad accountability including development and execution of PwC Canada’s Energy, Utilities, Mining & Industrial Products (EUMI) marketing plan. The Marketing Manager will develop and cultivate strong relationships with national and regional leaders within the EUMI Practice as well as Marketing & Sales leadership to ensure alignment with firm and global priorities and business results.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, the Manager will develop, drive and execute all marketing campaigns and the associated initiatives with the support of a Marketing Specialist. This includes, but is not limited to: thought leadership, advertising, communications, media relations, events and sponsorships.

The ideal candidate will have experience in dealing with senior decision-makers and be a demonstrated team player with an ability to function in a fast-paced, changing environment, while still effectively managing multiple priorities to deadline. You will also have proven ability to bring innovative marketing ideas forward to support the business strategy.


Planning and Execution

Develop, execute and monitor the EUMI strategic plan through understanding of key stakeholder priorities and the Marketing & Sales vision

Partner with Line of Service, cross Industry, and City marketing leads to identify and prioritize relationships within each segment and ensure your marketing plans are integrated with other marketing campaigns, leveraging where it makes sense

In collaboration with your key stakeholders, work to fully understand the needs of the practice, help build out the business strategy and execute on the details. You will need to identify tactics the firm needs to start and continue, while identifying those which detract from our brand or have minimal impact

Planning and driving thought leadership and event marketing programs from inception to distribution

Creating and executing all communications including the development of internal and external promotional materials, newsletters, print advertising and online communications as required to support your campaigns

Understanding and continuously maintaining an in-depth knowledge of industry issues and strategy

Working in close collaboration with regional marketing teams to drive local adoption of national marketing campaigns, understanding and adapting to the nuances of each market

Collaborating with global teams to leverage priorities and campaigns appropriately

Demonstrate marketing leadership by working closely with senior marketing and business leaders;

Lead by example; demonstrate PwC experience behaviours with internal and external stakeholders.

Promote key achievements of the EUMI marketing team to share learnings and demonstrate value;
· Pro-actively seek opportunities to bring forward new concepts, ideas and approaches to enhancing our marketing programs and processes.

5 – 7 years marketing experience in professional services firms, large corporations, or marketing consulting firms/agencies managing large-firm clients in competitive environments;

1+ years at senior level, developing and executing marketing strategies and plans with large budget accountabilities and linkages to sales results;

2+ years leading, coaching and managing individuals to successful achievement of goals;

Significant exposure to developing or working with graphic designers, content marketers, event planners, and external agencies;

Experience measuring program effectiveness and identifying actionable insights through CRM systems;

Experience leading cross-functional teams with multiple stakeholders;

Experience leading a team through significant change.

Excellent ability to develop and communicate marketing strategy and plans;

Excellent understanding of marketing as a competency and experience developing others;

Excellent knowledge of digital strategy and experience leveraging digital channels to build relationships, measure engagement and drive business outcomes;

Demonstrated business acumen – solid understanding of the relationship management process in a professional services firm and the key drivers that will deliver results;

Desire to identify, develop and implement innovative ideas;

Ability to influence and align others on key objectives without authority;

Ability to work well in ambiguity, working in a culture of change and navigating in an agile, complex, matrix organization;

Strong analytical skills and ability to deliver recommendations from analysis;

Strong problem solving skills and high level of attention to detail;

Strong interpersonal skills – the candidate must be able to interact successfully with all levels of staff, leaders, partners, and clients with a positive, enthusiastic attitude.
