Trade Journey is a pilot program is for employment-ready women who are interested in a career in the trades.
The Project Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and delivering pre-training, training (16 weeks) and employment phases of Trade Journey. Reporting to the Manager, Employment and Learning and working closely with stakeholders the incumbent will determine participants skills and personal suitability, co-ordinate and/or deliver entry-level employability skills training, establish relationships with local employers, and transition participants into employment and obtaining journeyperson certification.
Bachelor of Social Work or Bachelor of Education with current experience delivering group and individual employment interventions an equivalent combination of related education and experience may be considered;
Minimum 2+ years of experience in a similar role within a workforce development setting;
Knowledge of Saskatoons construction industry and Saskatchewan trades occupations;
Well-developed relationship-building skills and ability to develop rapport and communicate effectively with all stakeholders – target group, employers, program partners, industry associations, the general public and colleagues is critical;
Effective planning, budgeting and reporting skills;
Proficient at an intermediate level in Microsoft 2010 Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint;
Valid class 5 Drivers License and access to a vehicle; and
An understanding of, and commitment to, the philosophies of YWCA Saskatoon;
This is a full time term position, working 40 hours per week beginning October 3, 2014 and ending December 31, 2015.
