Job Posting: Facilitator / Resource Advisor at PICS Job Options BC – White Rock Project (Temporary position for 26 weeks – full-time 35 hrs / week)

Summary: Assist with delivery of Job Options BC program in White Rock; recruit suitable clients and provide job search assistance, counselling, facilitation, and placement support to program clients.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences or equivalent; proven experience / training in career counselling (Career Development Practitioner), job search facilitation, and job development preferably in a multicultural setting; or a suitable combination of education, training, experience and certification. Excellent computer skills are required. Fluency in English is mandatory and fluency in second language is preferred. Suitable vehicle is required.

Key duties and responsibilities:
Recruit, screen, and assess participants for program suitability and eligibility for the Job Options BC Program

Develop Return to Work Action Plans to facilitate the ongoing management of client’s employment future

Design, prepare, and update job search material – manuals, forms, exercises and handouts

Deliver Life Skills and Job Search workshops in group settings; coach clients to develop their interviewing skills; assist clients in networking with employers; arrange short-term training as required

Work with participants to determine their individual needs and skills to market to employers in the labour market

Participate in marketing and promotional activities for the programs

Assist clients in typing, editing, correcting and making changes to all job search documents and update these in the client files in the office

Assist and follow-up with clients in the implementation of the financial supports component of the program (including training allowances, wage subsidies and other program supports payments)

Provide ongoing consultation and guidance to clients; follow up, review, and monitor their progress throughout the intervention and post-track period

Provide Internet and email orientation to clients to enable them to access job leads and apply on-line

Connect participants with appropriate community resources

Maintain and control access to office facility and resources

Perform other job-related duties as assigned from time to time
