Our Montreal location in Quebec, Canada is currently seeking talent to fill the position of Rail Analyst Logistics. This job is permanent, full-time. The preferred starting date would be 02/01/2018.
The Rail Analyst will have the responsibility for managing all aspects of rail related service from Mill and Warehouse locations in North America, covering Paper & Pulp for both Domestic and International Markets.
Lead damage prevention projects for rail;
Negotiate rail rates from railroads;
Manage 3rd party support companies;
Prepare the loadings patterns using loadXpert functionality and AAR loading requirements;
Manage the lease cars fleet;
Resolve in transit rail issues;
Evaluate and analyze on a regular basis all information and market conditions for new opportunities to drive cost reductions or tactical changes in regards to new or existing rail routings;
Interact with managers and peers in Sales, Customer Service, Operations, Planning and Mill Operations to provide fact based information and Logistics input relating to the Resolute rail strategy and tactical decisions impacting customers and operations;
Share monthly forecast with originating railways;
Monitor and follow up on weekly supply of railcars vs. demand;
Identify upcoming railcar shortages and proactively work with the railways and mill teams to address the shortage;
Work with mill operations to understand the root cause and establish a plan to eliminate the demurrage.
Reporting to the Manager Logistics, Network Design, you will be part of a results oriented team that focus on improvements to the overall supply chain network where exceeding expectations is encouraged.
Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Operations, Production Management or Supply Chain;
Minimum 3 years Logistics or Supply Chain experience within a large scales manufacturing environment;
Experience working in a Rail related profession an asset.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written) in both official languages;
Ability to work under pressure and as part of a team, to communicate with all levels of the organization and to quickly adapt to change;
Demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate and deal with complex operating scenarios;
Detail oriented and possess excellent organization skills with the ability to handle a variety of tasks simultaneously;
Ability to identify and analyze problems, take initiative and decisive actions when needed;
Self-motivated, self-directed and attentive to detail;
Very good working knowledge of MS Office, JD Edwards and SAP will be considered an asset.
