Come Join the Industry Leader! Motor Coach Industries (MCI) , an industry leader in Charter and Luxury Touring Coaches, is seeking an Production Supervisor to join our team. As the market leader, MCI designs, manufactures and markets coaches for tour, line haul, transit and conversion uses. MCI is committed to providing our customers with high-quality products along with aftermarket services throughout the U.S. and Canada. The Production Supervisor plays a key leadership role in providing front line supervision within our unionized manufacturing department. This leadership role is responsible for ensuring work is carried out in accordance with MCI’s health, safety and environment protocols, and co-ordinates production activities ensuring work is carried out to TAKT time and budget and that work meets customer requirements. This position maintains a key link to senior management and ensures objectives are communicated to staff to ensure success in achieving business goals. Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensures work is performed in a safe manner by employees, and that equipment is maintained and processes are carried out in compliance with Health, Safety and Environment policies and procedures
  • Provides leadership and guidance to employees on work requirements and expectations Manages employee performance and addresses issues through MCI’s corrective action process
  • Directs and assigns work to production employees and ensures employees have the training and skills to perform tasks
  • Directs department activities and ensures production is carried out in accordance with customer requirements, and within TAKT times and lean manufacturing practices.
  • Ensures work meets quality standards and monitors and ensures budget compliance and provides updates on department budget status to management Position Requirements
  • Previous leadership experience with a minimum of 3-5 years experience working within a manufacturing environment, preferably in the transportation, automotive or bus industry
  • Experience working in unionized environment
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, and a track record of dealing with progressive discipline issues in a constructive fashion
  • Dedication to continuous learning is evident through your varied educational background, or a combination of progressive related experience and hands-on learning along with an desire to further your education
