PeopleSoft Functional Analyst

On behalf of our large Public Sector Client, Procom is seeking a PeopleSoft Functional Analyst, for a long term contract.

Job Details

-Our Client requires a PeopleSoft Functional Analyst to support its Program
-The resource will support deliverables in the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), using the Cognos toolset
-These deliverables will include an integrated (HR and Finance) dimensional model or cube, an HR dimensional model or cube and a number of HR reports
-Evaluate existing procedures and methods, identify and document items such as: database content, database structure, business applications
– Elicit business requirements for HR and integrated reporting
– Document, validate and analyze HR and integrated reporting requirements and specifications
– Perform data mapping against PeopleSoft and SAP
– Document functional/technical specifications for approved reports, cubes and dimensional models
– Participate in testing activities by preparing test plans and test cases for reports, cubes and dimensional models
– Establish business acceptance test criteria with client
– Analyze system changes relating to the resolution of defects for reports, cubes and dimensional models
– Analyze changes required in the EDW based on PeopleSoft and SAP releases
– Prepare change requests for required modifications to reports in the EDW
– Implement changes to existing reports using the Cognos toolset in the EDW
– Design and develop HR and integrated reporting solutions using the Cognos toolset in the EDW
– Address ad hoc reporting needs using the Cognos toolset in the EDW
– Establish and maintain user roles and permissions for Cognos reporting solutions in the EDW
– Assist in the establishment of standards for Cognos reports in the EDW
– Prepare work effort estimates and plans for reporting activities
– Provide other project support activities that are directly related to Integrated Business Intelligence
– Report to the Project Authority on a weekly basis on the progress of the work described above
– The resource must submit a written status report on a weekly basis, documenting the progress of the work described above including issues, risks and challenges, which may affect overall schedule and planned tasks for the next reporting period
– The resource must provide advice to the Project Authority or their representatives
– The resource must develop and submit presentation material for committee meetings
– The resource must develop, maintain and submit a detailed Project plan and estimate for business analysis activities
– The resource must submit a final evaluation and lessons learned report
– The resource must transfer functional and technical knowledge to the project team and client staff through individual and group training and demonstrations and written instructions and documents on an ongoing basis throughout the life of the project

Mandatory Skills

– minimum of 5 years of experience, within the last 10, as a Functional Analyst
– minimum of 2 years of experience, within the last 5 years, as a Functional Analyst implementing PeopleSoft HRMS

Nice to Have Skills

– formal education in Business or in an IM/IT related field from a recognized university or college (degree or diploma in an IM/IT related field)
– successful completion of certified training from PeopleSoft Inc. or a Certified PeopleSoft Consulting Partner or passed a PeopleSoft equivalency test in the following courses: Introduction to PS/HR/Benefits, and/or PeopleTools 1
– experience in a PeopleSoft HRMS environment version 8 or greater within the last 5 years
– experience as a Functional Analyst implementing or maintaining functionality within a PeopleSoft GC HRMS environment
– minimum of one year of experience using PeopleTools Application Designer
– experience in developing test plans and writing and executing test scripts
– experience as a Functional Analyst, designing and developing reporting solutions using a Cognos toolset
– experience as a PeopleSoft HRMS Functional Analyst in defining, analyzing, designing and implementing reporting requirements
– experience, within the last 5 years, as a Functional Analyst in gathering requirements and translating them to specific requirements. To qualify, the proposed resource must have utilized at least 2 of the following 4 methods: workshops, surveys, business process descriptions, and/or task analysis
– experience preparing functional specifications
– experience developing queries and reports using PeopleSoft Query

Start Date: Upon Contract Award
Assignment Length: 2 years (initial contract 1 year, plus 2 option periods of 6 months each)
