There are two primary responsibilities within the scope of this position:

Provide immediate, confidential and effective technology support to the employees of the Executive Office.
Ensure all client/server hardware and software is current, reliable and has available capacity to meet both current and future business needs. The successful candidate will partner with Enterprise IT teams and Hydro One’s IT outsourcer to review, consult, advise, and manage changes to the IT environment – including hardware and software required to support business IT initiatives.?

At least 5 – 8 years experience in IT, with a strong technical background.
Demonstrates in-depth technical knowledge on Windows Server/Desktop/Mail/File/Print environment.
Experience working in an outsourcing arrangement.
Strong project management, technical writing, and communication skills with the ability to translate technical solutions into business terms & outcomes.
Experience in the development and communication – both written and oral – of project and program charters, business cases, and presentations to senior management.
Experience with technology product evaluation, selection, acquisition, integration and deployment processes.
Experience with the design and implementation of both enterprise and departmental solutions.
Experience with the calculation and tracking of the total cost of ownership of an infrastructure solution.
Experience with financial management, including monthly reporting of projects and programs.
BA or BSc in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent work experience .

Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

Provide Desktop and home office support to the employees of the Executive Office:

Provide installation of PC hardware, PC peripherals, operating system and desktop software.
Provide problem support for PC hardware, operating system and desktop software.
Provide configuration support of desktop systems to suit the needs of the Executive Office.
Support any PC move or change activities in the Executive Offices.
Provide support for back-up of critical data.
Maintain an inventory of spare equipment to facilitate prompt resolution of problem or installation requests.
Provide Wireless technology support to the employees of the Executive Office:

Immediately respond to and fulfill all wireless related inquires and requests from the Senior Executive team.
Provide assistance with desktop integration and configuration of client devices.
Interface with Wireless vendors to resolve any service issues.
Provide security reviews to confirm safeguarding of Confidential Information.
Provide Audio & Visual technology support to the employees of the Executive Office:

Pretest the Audio & Visual equipment in the Executive boardroom prior to important meeting as specified by the Executive Office.
Provide onsite standby problem support during important meetings as directed by the Executive Office.
Provide vendor interface with all the technology suppliers for the Executive boardrooms and meeting locations.
Provide IT security support to the employees of the Executive Office:

Routinely confirm PCs within the Executive Office have current Operating System security patches applied and have up to date antivirus signature files.
Provide assistance with the configuration of personal firewall settings.
Review all potential security issues associated with customized IT solutions that may be designed and implemented form time to time.
Report to IT Security any observations of anomalies within the Executive Office computing environment.
Provide Network support to the employees of the Executive Office:

Create or modify directory shared folders for the employees of the Executive Office as requested.
At the direction of IT security, collect and review reports from various security related network nodes e.g. Domain logs, Firewalls, IDS nodes etc.

Manage all aspects of Client/Server Software including; request, automation, acquisition, certification, integration, license usage tracking, compliance management, consolidation and client communications.
Review and strengthen processes and standards relative to Client/Server software management for adherence to corporate compliance and business strategy.
Work with outsourcer to implement/adhere to ITIL best practices.
Setup and maintain client/server hardware and software refresh programs & roadmaps to ensure hardware and software currency to meet the business needs and contracted service levels:

Partner with vendors and the IT outsourcer to ensure a plan is implemented to proactively ensure technology evolution, software and hardware currency, established currency programs, etc.
Review proposals by the IT service provider and recommend approval.
Monthly Financial Management & Reporting of program and projects.
Develop and manage small technology projects as required following Enterprise IT’s established project methodologies:

Document problem description reports, charters, business cases, RFP’s, etc.
Deliver on assigned actions to meet program timelines.
Collaboratively work with PMO to ensure project are successfully delivered on time and on budget.
Provide weekly status updates to management.?
