We have a temporary (approximately 12 month) employment opportunity in our Marketing, Communications & Rewards department for a Communications Specialist (Internal). This position reports to the Manager, Communications.
The successful candidate is a creative and talented writer able to prepare a variety communications such as scripts, media releases and copy for delivery to numerous platforms and audiences; is experienced in the day-to-day management of web-based content management systems and is thrives in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
•Manages a portfolio of communication projects from design through launch and post-implementation (includes communications, timelines and deliverables and project review).
•Develops internal communications content for delivery via all internal communications channels including, Team Member Newsletters, OFG intranet and ofg4me platforms.
•Maintains OFG’s internal communications platforms (intranet, ofg4me and ofg4ldrs) to ensure accurate and timely communication.
•Manages, monitors and provides governance of ofg4ldrs as a self-service communication platform for OFG business leaders.
•Maintains a content library of photos, news articles and other relevant information for use-and re-use in OFG documents and presentations.
•Collaborates with stakeholders to ensure internal communications strategies are aligned with business objectives.
•Partners with subject matter experts to ensure the timely and effective communication of internal messages.
•Writes effective and compelling copy to engage audience.
•Proactively makes continuous improvements to key processes, techniques, and procedures related to OFG’s internal communications strategy.
•Keeps current on trends and advancements in internal communications and makes recommendations to incorporate emerging best practices into OFG’s internal communications strategies.
•Provides ongoing, timely consultation and support related to internal communications.
•Maintains positive relationships and networks with internal and external contacts.
Criteria for Application
•Diploma or degree in communications or public relations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in a marketing, communications, PR or internal communications role; experience in a retail environment would be considered an asset.
•Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Proven knowledge of Content Management tools, web design, and communications related software.
•Ability to multi-task in a deadline-driven work environment.
•Demonstrated interpersonal skills and ability to promote collaborative relationships inside and outside the organization.
•Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
•Flexible and adaptable to work in a changing and fast paced environment.
•Demonstrated customer service orientation.
•Sound analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Please note that this is a full time temporary position expected to last for the duration of approximately 12 months.
