SUMMARY

Reporting to the Sales Manager, the Sales Specialist is an expert resource on Scale Products, with a focus on large scales, custom fabricated products and automation equipment, for our customers in Western Canada. This role is responsible for introducing, promoting and selling Scale Products, product enhancements and upgrades to existing and new customers, in Alberta and Saskatchewan, the priority territories.

EXPECTED CONTRIBUTIONS

  • Establish and maintain relationships within the Agriculture, Road Builders, Waste and Recycling, Oil and Gas, Transportation and Government/Municipality industries to promote Precision Scale’s products and identify new opportunities for value-added sales.
  • Take ownership of account management and growth through new business opportunities and expansion of our existing customer base.
  • Determine customers’ needs by demonstrating knowledge of the industry, pricing and competition.
  • Work with the Technical Integration team to develop effective customer proposals; influence, negotiate and close the sale while keeping the best interests of the customer and company in mind.
  • Promote effective solutions, and deliver exceptional customer service through collaboration with the Marketing, Fabrication, Automation and Service Departments.
  • Communicate regularly with customers to build and enhance the relationship, and educate customers on industry and federal requirements to ensure compliance and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive and attain high monthly, quarterly and annual sales figures.
  • Follow the Orders to Cash process. Enter customer Quotations, Orders and Invoices in accordance with PGSI processes.
  • Report regularly on Quotations delivered, Sales (committed to and completed) and current leads.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • A natural ‘hunter’ personality, with strong follow through and a commitment to completion.
  • Strong communication, presentation and relationship building skills. Fluency in English is a must.
  • Ability to quickly learn about new products and concepts.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail; organizational and networking skills.
  • Client focus, with the ability to visualize what the customer may or may not be asking for, and quickly identify solutions.
  • Strong entrepreneurial/self-motivated personality, with the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing conditions.
  • Ability to travel frequently.
  • Minimum 3-5 years comparable, successful sales experience.
  • Demonstrated commitment to personal and professional growth outside of work.
  • Proficiency with computer applications, including MS Office and AIMS.
  • Post-Secondary Education, ideally in a Business or Technical fields of study
