Recruiter (National Retail/Merchandising) – 1 Year Contract

We are looking for an entry level recruiter to compliment our team based in our Mississauga head office.

This is a one year entry level contract employment opportunity and is inclusive of, but not limited to: sourcing, screening, interviewing, hiring, and on boarding of contract merchandisers.

Schedule: * 40 hours per week * Monday to Friday * 9AM – 5PM

Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Coordinates field hiring with Manager of Operations & assists with ongoing recruitment needs and planning.
  • Provides daily/monthly administration support for Operations team, constructing various Excel and PowerPoint reports as needed.
  • Track and fill open vacancies across Canada
  • Recruit viable candidates for all markets
  • Consideration of costs & expenses to company when recruiting
  • Conduct full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, interviewing and providing meaningful insights into hiring decisions.
  • Recommend appropriate recruitment strategies and continuously build and maintain talent pipelines
  • Build recruitment capabilities through consulting support, demonstrating inclusive recruitment best practices and providing a good candidate experience
  • Responsible for candidate recommendations for contract merchandisers across Canada
  • Responsible for completing pre-employment administrative tasks to include reference checks and phone screening following provided requirements
  • Collaborates with Manager of Operations and reports progress regularly
  • Collaborates with HR and Operations to understand job descriptions and corresponding qualifications required of job candidates.
  • Maintains applicant data using resources and tools
  • Supports the Manager of Operations as needed

Qualifications:

  • Attentive to detail
  • Competent using standard functions in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point)
  • Perform administrative tasks quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Coordinate candidate interviews with the Recruitment specialist
  • Professional and friendly communication with potential candidates and co-workers
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a variety of situations
  • Maintain efficient office procedures and a system for keeping track of potential candidates
  • Knowledge of business English, spelling, punctuation and grammar
  • Quick thinker who brings a positive and high-energy approach to getting things done
  • Bilingual (French) is an asset

Education:

  • Bachelor Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management
  • CHRP an asset

Work Experience:

  • Must have 1 year minimum of professional experience recruiting in a high volume environment, preferably in retail for a national field force
  • 1-2 years experience in a fashion merchandising or retail environment
