Human Resources/Payroll File Clerk
6 Month Contract, Part-time

Performance Auto Group is currently seeking a Human Resources/Payroll File Clerk to join our dynamic team in St. Catharines .

The candidate will be responsible for assisting the employee services department with recruitment, payroll data entry, and related administrative duties. This includes clerical duties such as organizing departmental files, verifying information and locating/removing materials from files. Other responsibilities include the preparation of incoming and outgoing mail for distribution, and the keeping of accurate and complete records and forms.

Job requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in HR and payroll administration
  • University degree or college diploma in Human Resources/Payroll
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Able to quickly and accurately compare similarities and differences in sets of letters, numbers, objects, patterns and pictures
  • Must exercise complete discretion, privacy and confidentiality with information in an ethical and professional manner

What will you do?

  • Gather, organize and file paperwork for employee records
  • Locate requested materials efficiently and ensure that materials are given only to authorized users
  • Use standardized filing methods and procedures
  • Keep accurate and complete records and forms of archived items
  • Answer questions about records and files and add new material to them
  • Create new files and records as necessary
  • Eliminate unnecessary or outdated materials by destroying them or transferring them to inactive storage according to file maintenance and legal guidelines
  • Assist with general human resources and payroll clerical duties, such as creating personnel files, processing applications and payroll data entry
  • Assist in projects like HR events, benefits enrollment, employee communications and company-wide meetings
  • Answer employee questions about forms and procedures, and refer them to specialists as needed
  • Other responsibilities and directives as assigned
