Provide effective administration of all accounting operations in an organized manner in order to meet or exceed objectives of costs, quality, time and safety. Perform all functions and responsibilities in accordance with our company’s values and beliefs.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
Perform day-to-day accounting and financial duties through all phases of projects, from start-up to close-out.
Overseeing general ledger accounts, A/P & A/R reconciliations, month-end, progress-draws, close-outs, year-end, balance sheet and income statement results and analysis.
Prepare and review monthly financial reports to ensure compliance and recording
Follow up on outstanding invoices with project managers and communicate discrepancies in project reports
Monthly review of job cost activity, ensuring consistent and proper coding.
Review and monitor project financial activity, including budgets, invoices, work orders, contracts and purchase orders, change orders, close-out documents with a high level of accuracy and within required timeframes
Other duties as requested and required
Desired Knowledge/Skills:
3-5 years of accounting experience in a Construction environment
University or College Degree in Accounting or Finance, or related business curriculum
Knowledge of accounting and tax-related legislation
Ability to multi-task and adapt to change in a fast-paced office environment
Ability to analyze and understand large volumes of financial data
Ability to maintain confidentiality and sensitive information
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Quick learner who possesses a high sense of initiative and can work under little supervision
Strong organizational skills with proven efficiency to handle multiple projects at one time, both independently and in a team-based environment
Excellent communication skills and proven ability to effectively communicate with all levels of an organization
Ability to work under time constraints with strong attention to detail
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Quickbooks, Sage, or other Accounting softwares
