LightSpeed is seeking a full-time Payroll & Benefits Coordinator. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, possesses strong organizational and people skills, and is extremely attentive to detail. The Payroll & Benefits Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the execution of payroll and benefit management across Canada and the US, acting as an internal consultant on benefit and payroll inquiries, and working on other HR projects. If you are self-directed and obsessed with the details, then this may be the position for you.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with managers to collect payroll information; manage corrections and ensure information is accurate
  • Answer employee questions relating to payroll, deductions, and taxation
  • Manage employee enrollment/participation in Canadian and American benefit programs, transit, fitness, and computer purchase programs; act as internal consultant and benefit administrator for both managers and employees
  • Answer employee questions relating to various benefit programs
  • Ensure that benefit reimbursements occur accurately and on time
  • Maintain accurate and up to date filing for all benefit paperwork and payroll reimbursements
  • Contribute to benefit planning and improvement
  • Manage special HR projects as needed
  • Manage other responsibilities and projects as required

Requirements

  • 3 – 5 years experience in a benefit and payroll administration or coordination role
  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience with payroll software
  • Experience with administering a variety of benefit programs across multiple locations (Canada and USA)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and impeccable attention to detail
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
  • Adept at handling sensitive documents and situations, with the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Perfect written and spoken English and French

Assets

  • University degree in Human Resources or related discipline
  • Knowledge of Mac OS X
