This is an exciting new opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Personal/Fitness Trainer to assist seniors in establishing and reaching their wellness goals through physical exercise instruction in a supportive, positive and inspiring environment.
Candidate Profile
Recognized Personal Training Certificate (BCRPA, ACSM, NSCA, ASFA, ACE) or equivalent educational background with a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar environment
Experience in one-on-one and group fitness environments
Older adult fitness training certification or falls prevention training an asset
Experience working with older adults and a good understanding of how the aging process affects exercise program design and instruction
Full understanding of all exercise equipment, proper operations, and safety
Knowledge and understanding of the concept of exercise program development
Knowledge of injury prevention
Team player with exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and maintain effective long-term relationships
Passion for seniors with empathy for and understanding the needs of seniors, their families and their professional service providers
Ability to provide excellent customer service to residents, visitors, service providers, employees and the public
Strong self-starter with the ability to motivate seniors to make healthy lifestyle changes in a positive, respectful, and supportive manner
Ability to respond to emergency situations
CPR/Level 1 First Aid certification
Proficient in Microsoft Office, CRM and other fitness tracking programs
Valid driver’s license and vehicle required
