Paladin Security’s System Support Specialist will provide operational and technical support to end users, including office staff, site security contacts, and our operations centre, as well as deliver projects using their broad knowledge of IT. You will maintain, monitor, and support current and new desktop/laptop deployment and perform periodic system audits to assure compliance and availability. You will maintain and manage backups, support users at multiple remote locations utilizing remote access tools and take a lead role on ongoing projects.

Based out of our Head Office in Burnaby, our System Support Specialist will provide tech support remotely to end users in various locations across Canada, and may periodically be required to travel to Paladin branches as needed. This position will also be responsible for after-hours support calls, and may require flex hours to accommodate varying time zones.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide hardware, software and connectivity support to end-user desktop/laptop/tablet/mobile equipment, according to Paladin IT standards
  • Install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot PC system hardware and software
  • Create, modify, and delete Active Directory/Exchange/Office365 user accounts
  • Provide assistance to other departments, which may require travelling to customer sites or Paladin branches
  • Maintain asset inventory
  • Keep up-to-date and acquire new skills with emphasis on technologies that add value to areas of direct responsibility

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 1 year experience in a Technical Help Desk or similar practical role
  • Diploma or equivalent work experience in a related field or industry
  • Current MCSA, A+ and Network+ certification would be considered an asset
  • Strong English communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Analytical problem solving skills for resolving technical problems
  • Experience working with any of the following:

o Windows XP/7/8/10, Windows Server 2008/2012/2016

o Active Directory

o Blackberry Enterprise Server

o Microsoft IIS (ASP)

o VMware 5.x – Restart VM services or Restart VM.

o Windows Server Backup

o Exchange 2013 and Office365 – create/delete/modify users

o Dealing vendor to open and resolve ticket

or proceed with Standard Application Form.
