Pacer is currently seeking a QC Technologist Pipin/ Level I Inspector to aid in its continued growth. Candidate must have a Level 1 Welding visual inspector certification with ASME B31.3 endorsement and must have experience in conducting piping pressure tests using hydrostatic and pneumatic procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Performs piping inspection and complete all associated documentation
  • Strong mechanical background
  • Ensures Quality Records are accurately completed with a focus on the required quality processes and the specification requirements for the related discipline activity
  • Implements, coordinates and maintains systems and procedures in accordance with project specifications
  • Performs general administrative and record keeping functions to ensure project specific quality management information is readily available including the completion of required quality documentation
  • Initiates non-conformance processes when materials or products do not meet the required specifications.
  • Takes action to monitor and control costs related to own work and assigned projects, provides input to the quality team on financial matters
  • Interfaces and communicates (written and oral) with management, clients and contacts
  • Assist QC Lead and represent Pacer as an on-site quality representative and take on responsibilities as directed
  • Monitor project quality assurance matters including non conformance’s and corrective actions
  • Assists in the planning and preparation of project quality plans in addition to inspection and test plans as requested by QC Lead
  • Promotes quality awareness and chairs on-site quality meetings in the absence of the QC Lead
  • Maintains quality records and documents
  • Liaise with clients/customers on quality matters in the absence of the QC Lead
  • Ensure all documents, procedures and records are approved prior to use for the project
  • Ensure qualified personnel perform activities and review/maintain qualification records
  • Responsible for ensuring inspections are completed as outlined in the inspection and test plan and meet customer / jurisdictional requirements
  • Ensure records of specified tests are completed and signed off accordingly as outlined in quality procedures and project requirements
  • Ensure responsibilities are completed as outlined and defined in quality procedures / work instructions and protect quality plans
  • Ensure responsibilities are completed as outlined in project quality plans
  • Coordinate 3rd party testing subcontractors ensuring customer and jurisdictional requirements are met and records filed accordingly
  • Other duties as given by the QC Lead

Qualifications

  • Certified as a CWB Level I Inspector (B31.3 or W59)
  • 4 -10 years related work experience
  • Lead / perform welding visual inspections (familiar with welding processes SMAW,GTAW)
  • Able to interpret ASME weld procedures, know differences for welding carbon, stainless, chrome steels
  • Ability to interpret ASME B31.3 Code for fabrication issues
  • Able to assess material MTR for compliance to specifications
  • Has detailed technical knowledge of codes and standards, regulatory requirements, modern construction practices, techniques and equipment
  • Strong computer background including experience with MS Office
  • Strong communication skills, confident interacting with key contacts in verbal,written and electronic form
  • Able to identify and resolve problems/issues, independently
  • Explains difficult information clearly and influences and persuades others towards consensus agreement in straightforward situations
  • Promotes teamwork by motivating, coaching guiding and training others
