The Overwaitea Food Group is looking for an enthusiastic and talented software test automation engineer to join our growing QA team.
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Analyst, this position works closely with development teams and business partners to create and execute formal test plans ensuring the quality delivery of software applications. Our ideal candidate lives-and-breathes test automation using open source tools but can ‘roll up their sleeves’ and perform manual testing if needed.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
•Ensures that quality methods and procedures are executed.
•Creates test plans and documents test results.
•Designs, implements, and executes both manual and automated tests in an Agile Environment
•Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status.
•Collects and analyzes data for software process evaluation and improvements and integrates them into business processes to address the needs of the business.
•Performs quality audits across the various IT functions to ensure quality standards, procedures and methodologies are being followed.
•Identifies and recommends testing methods, tools and processes for improvement.
Criteria for Application
•Diploma or degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or related discipline.
•2 – 5 years’ experience in software development or test automation in an enterprise-level software environment, ideally with at least 18 months of testing (functional, stress/performance, security) multi-tiered web applications
•Proficient at scripting or programming in at least one language (java, python, bash, etc.)
•Experience with open-source testing frameworks such as selenium webdriver, sikuli, jmeter, etc.
•Experience writing and running automated tests
•Experience testing API’s, SOAP and REST web services
•Solid understanding of Software QA and Software development processes and methodologies, especially with working in an agile environment with continuous integration/continuous delivery best practices.
•Above average communication skills. Ability to effectively resolve differences in understanding
•Excellent documentation and reporting skills
•Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment.
•Adaptable and resilient when faced with change, pressure, and challenges.
•Experience in troubleshooting and solving problems in a complex environment.
•Ability to make critical and successful decisions under pressure.
