Osorno Enterprise Inc. is an innovative bio-environmental company that specializes in providing water and wastewater solutions for small and remote communities. The Technical Sales Specialist will be responsible for working with management and marketing staff, and prospecting new clients for Osorno’s water and wastewater treatment and chemical products and services in Western Canada and Northwestern Ontario.

The position will be based out of Osorno Enterprises head office in Winnipeg, MB Canada.

The Technical Sales Specialist will perform the following Duties :

  • Develop business leads with new clients including small municipalities, First Nation communities, healthcare facilities, engineering firms, federal & provincial government agencies;
  • Secure meetings, including preparation and follow up with potential clients to assess their needs and recommend potential solutions;
  • Attend relevant trade shows, workshops and conferences to promote Osorno’s products and services;
  • Keep management informed by submitting weekly activity and results reports, including new territory analyses, work plans and call reports.
  • Monitor the competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, existing and new products and services, marketing and sales techniques, etc. .
  • Develop and implement system to track client contacts, sales and potential sales;
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

The ideal candidate will possess the following Skills :

  • Strong interpersonal skills to build long-term relationship with clients;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Demonstrate persistence in pursuing and following up on sales leads; and
  • Good problem solving abilities to analyze customer issues and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • We are looking for someone with the following Qualifications and Experience :
  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in a technical or science program;
  • Experience or knowledge in water and wastewater treatment industry sector;
  • Sales experience; and
  • A driver’s license, and access to a vehicle for client calls.

What we offer:

This full-time position has a probation period of two months with an hourly rate of $30. Mileage rates and per diem meal amounts will be paid for use of personal vehicle on sales calls. Following a successful trial period, the salary rate will be increased to $35 per hour, extended health care benefits will become available and commission on new finalized sales will be negotiable.
