OSG4Life , a growing, fast-paced, international, manufacturer of nutritional and pharmaceutical products currently has an opening for a Materials Technician.

Duties Include:

  • Creation of Purchase Orders for material and services within Corporate Purchasing Procedures
  • Monitor Open PO reports and expedite when appropriate
  • Manage safety stock levels
  • Develop and maintain business relationships with customers, suppliers and business associates
  • Analyze cost reduction opportunities and provide recommendations to Purchasing Manager
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is completed with all required information for the purposes of obtaining approvals and recording and reporting business


  • Receiving and inspection of incoming materials and products
  • Accurately completing shipping documentation (bills of lading, commercial invoices, packing slips
  • Reliable with strong organizational skills and high attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge or experience in international shipping documentation and procedures
  • Accuracy in data entry with strong computer and MS Office skills
  • Experience working with ERP systems
  • Perform general physical activities in order to load, unload, sort and move shipments by hand or using material handling equipment
  • Examine shipment contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify accuracy of shipment
  • Pack, seal, and label materials to prepare for shipping
  • Adhere to shipping and receiving policies/procedures, and regulatory compliance procedures
  • Maintain compliance with laws, regulations, and/or standards and complete appropriate documentation as required
  • May determine shipping method for materials, using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
  • May contact carrier representative to make arrangements and to issue instructions for shipping and delivery of materials.
  • Order and store shipping supplies to maintain stock inventory
  • Maintain shipping and receiving area
  • Update and maintain relevant data systems
  • Assist in maintaining warehouse organization
  • Operate Forklift

Position requires:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software – ability to create basic spreadsheets and macros an asset
  • An ability to work in a team environment with strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Ambition, self-motivation, eagerness to learn, positive attitude and a commitment to continuous improvement
  • Ability to manage workflow pressures and competing priorities
