Role Summary:

Becoming part of the Edmonton History by joining Oilers Entertainment Group and reporting to the Director of Photography & Digital Asset Management, the Video Library & Production Intern is a full-time, eight month contract (January – September) position. While experiencing the fast-paced Sports and Entertainment world, the Video Library & Production Intern will be responsible for supporting OEG Production initiatives related to Rogers Place, the Edmonton Oilers, Edmonton Oil Kings and other corporate initiatives while gaining valuable skills for their future career.

Core Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Facilitates the transfer of OEG’s vast tape-based Oilers video assets into a digital format, using the latest in digitization technology.
  • Assists the Director of Photography, the Librarian/Archivist and other Editors/Producers within the OEG Content team with field tape transcribing, footage searches, and on-location shooting.

Education, Experience and Skills:

  • Currently enrolled in a program at a Post-Secondary Institute.
  • Passionate about a career in the sports and entertainment industry.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Expects highest quality performance from self and others.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and deliver excellence in client service.
  • Ability to work long or unpredictable hours on weekdays, weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Strong knowledge and familiarity with the game of hockey (knowledge of Oilers History preferred).
  • Strong computer skills (especially windows explorer or similar file hierarchy/naming structures).
  • Basic knowledge of various multi-media file formats.
  • Self-direction and able to operate with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to learn and be trained.
